THE EYE EXAM: DINNER AND A MOVEMENT
The Eye Exam, hosted by Culture & Co., is an immersive series inviting others to see art through the curator’s eye. It made its debut in 2021, with Dinner and a Movement. Held early that year as Covid cases were steadily rising, Dinner and a Movement reflects on the emotions of 2020 through the collaboration of dance, visual, and culinary art. This two-part event addresses the moods of somber uncertainty brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic and social tensions, while also celebrating the moments that helped us make it to 2021 such as camaraderie, nourishment, and art. Although this was a live event, it only consisted of a small audience to provide a safer environment. The following short film was made to ensure that everyone everywhere can have access to this experience and hear directly from the participating artists.
